Fondly known as “Pastor” or “100% Jesus” walked with God, and he was not, for the Lord delighted in the company of His friend so much that He took him.
Born on Sunday, November 7, 1982, in Lagos, Nigeria, Alfred went to be with his FRIEND on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
In His boundless generosity, God shared His beloved friend with us for 42 years. Throughout this time, Alfred devoted his life to God and to the people God placed around him.
Family Background:
Alfred was born into the family of Pastor D.A. and Prophetess M.A.O. Okoko. He was blessed with five siblings: Afolaoluwabi, Funmilayo, Eniola, Oluwafeyisola, and Mercy.
Childhood Memories:
As a young boy, Alfred often preached the word of God to his friends at school and to those around him. It was from these early sermons that he earned the nickname “Pastor” – a name given to him by different people at various times and places, none of whom knew each other. Remarkably, the same nickname followed him everywhere, a testament to his unmistakable calling.
Not only did Alfred love God’s word, but he also excelled in interdenominational Christian competitions and quizzes, winning numerous gifts and awards for both his church and himself.
He was known for his humility, extraordinary patience, and his unwavering ability to see the good in every situation and in everyone he encountered.
As a child, Alfred was deeply compassionate, often giving away his belongings to others in need, even when he had little himself. When asked why he gave so freely, he would confidently reassure, “God will make provisions for another one.”
Alfred began his educational journey at Omoleye Children School, Lagos, Nigeria. He later attended Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Lagos before fulfilling his dream of becoming a pilot at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria.
He pursued his career with determination and started working with Arik Air, a prominent Nigerian aviation company, in 2010. Over the years, Alfred gained extensive experience, working with other companies like Nestav, Ezuma jets, Dana Airline, and Bing Enterprise LTD, steadily climbing the ladder in his field
Alfred Oluwafunmiso Samuel Okoko married the love of his life, Adeyanju Adejobi, on September 22, 2011, in Lagos, Nigeria. Together, they built a family rooted in faith and were blessed with four beautiful and godly children: Araoluwa, Iyanuoluwa, Erinayooluwa, and Ireoluwa Okoko.
Alfred was a devoted husband and a deeply attentive father whose steadfast walk with God shaped his family’s life and values – a legacy that endures even now and will continue to flourish.
He was very neat, organized, methodical and meticulous.

In his leisure time, Alfred loved playing video games, including PS4 and PS5. He also enjoyed using a Flight Simulator on his computer.
He actively rode bicycles and played football, representing one of his employers Dana Airline in football competitions.
He was a good football analyst.
He was very playful.
His favorite food was spaghetti, dodo and Pomo.
He was a passionate lover of musical instruments and kept several at home, including pianos and saxophones, for worship. He ensured his children had private instructors to learn these instruments, nurturing their gifts for the glory of God.
The last instrument Alfred acquired was a new piano, which he gifted himself for Christmas as part of his personal devotion to his FRIEND.

It is fitting to call Alfred Oluwafunmiso Okoko a “Friend of God.” He loved the Lord, not merely out of religious duty, but because he lived to please Him.
To Alfred, love meant making others happy, and he demonstrated this love in every aspect of his life. He was humble, gentle, selfless, compassionate, and non-judgmental—a kind and generous soul. He listened attentively, exercised unshakable patience, and was a source of comfort to all who knew him.

Alfred was deeply loved by God and by those who knew him. His life was a testament to selfless service, extending kindness and support to everyone around him, often at great personal sacrifice.
The stories of his generosity, soul-winning efforts, and faith-encouraging deeds will live on in the lives of those he touched. His works remain a testimony before the Almighty, who undoubtedly has adorned him with many stars in his heavenly crown.

The way you loved and protected your family, even my family, inspired me about being intentional about building a family filled with the love of God.

Captain, as I always call him, was more than a friend; he was a light, a pillar of faith, and a relentless advocate for God’s work. For him, it was 100% Jesus and nothing else. He didn’t just say it— He lived it, inspiring everyone to pursue God wholeheartedly.
Do I need to talk about his generosity which knew no bounds. He touched lives, not with words alone but through the profound example of a life dedicated to Christ.
Though I grieve deeply, but I am assured he has fought the good fight, finished the race, and is now at peace with the Lord he served so faithfully.
Rest well, beloved Captain.

I got a letter from God on Tuesday 14th of January. The letter was about you my dear brother and friend. It was so saddening to see you transit into glory this soon. There are many things to say about your person, your kind heart to many, your love for Jesus, your giving spirit and your maturity in handling matters. Bro, we won’t be mourning like men who are without hope because we are so sure that you are with your Maker. You lived a good life here with us. I didn’t regret knowing you and I am sure one day we will meet at His feet. Rest on, the man who lived for Jesus.
See you in the morning.
A life well spent for Christ and His work.
Bro Alfred was a representation of humility. For the few times I saw him in his lifetime, I saw a God-fearing person. He was such a wonderful gift from God.
May his soul rest in peace!
May the soul of the departed find rest in the Lord in Jesus name.
He doesn’t see anyone as his enemy. He will say I’m sorry even when he’s not guilty.
Though we never met but your heart of kindness speaks and echo in the sphere of humanity. May Almighty God fill the vacuum your absence has created in Jesus mighty name Amen 🙏

Words can not articulate how amazing you are.
I was not just privileged to know you in person, but I lived with you for years, and I can testify that you are a rare person with a great personality. You are selfless, generous to default, and lover of God and people.
Your life and way of living shone light on my path and gave me essence for living.
You taught me how a Christian family should be like without sitting me down in any class. Indeed, your life is a concordance of good works. You showed me the real definition of love I read in Scripture.
I practically saw you preached with your life, resources, and everything you had. Striving to bring out the best in everyone without discriminating.
So humble and ready to receive anyone with open arms.
Every moment we had together as family will undoubtedly live in my heart forever.
Live on God’s son
